LUYA LIANGLuya’s passion for hip-hop dance and its culture began at the age of 10. When she reached the age of 14, she began her dancing journey with North Surrey Secondary. As she got more involved with hip hop, she experienced freestyle and choreography training with A3 studio, The Barangay Project, and many guest teachers at her school.
Throughout her time at North Surrey, she has received recognition awards of being thoroughly involved with the dance teams and showing commitment, creativity, passion, and hard work for her dance. As a senior in high school she has been the hip-hop coach as well as a dancer with North Surrey Secondary. Her goal as a leader is that she emphasizes and enforces the importance of dancers’ healthy connections to dancing, themselves, and each other. To Luya, dance is not dance without community, support, and love. With her future students at Artistic Edge, Luya can’t wait to see and be involved with the future generations of hip-hop dancers. She is excited to share her knowledge and have fun with Artistic Edge Dance Academy! |
